The first time I heard about Blue Ocean Strategy by W. Chan Kim was back in 2011 during an MBA class. A professor introduced the book and its concepts. At the time, I didn’t read it, but kept the recommendation in mind. Now I finally finished it.

The book brings the idea of leaving behind the bloody competition of the “red oceans” and creating new market spaces, the “blue oceans”.

I found it inspiring because it shows practical cases of companies that innovated by creating markets where none existed before. It’s a vision that makes you think outside the box, not just compete in the same crowded space.

It’s essential reading for anyone interested in strategy and innovation. One of those books that changes the way you see business.
