Work

I’m back from staycation. Focus is on 2026 planning and getting closer to strategic clients. Leadership and structuring remain central—strategic decisions, people, pre-sales, and organizing teams around mobile, digital experiences, and applied technology.

I’ve been increasingly interested in how to sustain good teams without inflating processes, how to maintain clarity in complex environments, and how to use AI in a practical way, less hype and more real delivery.

Writing and thinking

Writing continues to be a tool for thinking. This site is where I organize ideas about technology, career, leadership, and life in general.

I don’t write on a fixed schedule and don’t follow a calendar. I write when I really feel like it and when I feel something deserves to be shared. The internet is a huge world and very useful for helping people with the same interests.

Outside the blog, I continue writing in my Obsidian, it helps me have a better understanding of what I’m thinking about. I’ve shared how I organize my thoughts and notes with Obsidian.

Body and routine

The gym is still important, but the recent new thing is that I started doing jiu jitsu. I’m enjoying this new phase a lot, both because of the challenge and because it moves body and mind in a different way.

With running I’m a bit stopped right now, and I need to come back soon. I have another half marathon race in the beginning of May, so it is time to get back to the rhythm with more consistency. In the end, the focus is still longevity, health, and keeping my head in the right place, not intensity just for intensity. I’ve written about books that inspired me on this journey: Running, by Drauzio Varella and What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, by Murakami.

Reading

Reading remains present, alternating between fiction, human behavior, philosophy, and strategy. I’ve been avoiding overly technical books when I feel my head is already full.

I just finished Fooled by Randomness by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. It was one of those books that interested me more for the ideas than for the reading experience itself. I shared the books I read in 2025 with highlights of my favorites.

Watching

I finished DTF St. Louis and The Pitt.

Right now I’m following Your Friends & Neighbors in real time, keeping up with the weekly releases.

Vintage and vinyl

I’ve been really into vintage lately—70s cars and vinyl. I started a record collection and I’m already past 60 albums. The turntable is almost always on.

Home and personal projects

I’ve been spending time tinkering with home automation, Home Assistant, and small adjustments to my homelab. It’s more of a nerdy pleasure I have, most of the time it’s not even for efficiency or real automation, but rather for curiosity, challenge, or just a hobby.

I like to understand how things work and to reduce dependencies when it makes sense. I’ve written about my residential rack, Home Assistant OS installation, and integrating Home Assistant with Alexa.

Chess

Chess is still part of my routine, but less intense now that I’m back from vacation.

Courses and learning

Languages continue as a continuous curiosity, I’ve been taking English classes practically every day, but without pressure. I’m also interested in Mandarin, this semester looks promising.

I started my master’s at UFSC, so a good part of my learning energy now also goes there. Beyond the academic side itself, I’m enjoying the feeling of going back to a more structured study environment.

I also keep taking AI and Game Development courses. They help me in my work, but I also confess they are good hobbies too.
